Implementation of an integrated water management system as a pilot project for the region of Mariupol

With the start of the year 2019 BPI decided, in addition to our daily work, to get involved with network initialisation and project development with partners from Germany and CEE countries.

Essentially, the decision to broaden our field of activity was made by the closing of the East-West-Science Centre (OWWZ – www.owwz.de) by Kassel University after more than 25 years and without replacement in the end of 2018

Nicole Burghardt worked with the OWWZ since 2005 and managed the centre in the last years. During this time, she build-up several networks (like the German-Russian Cooperation Network Biotechnology, NanoBRIDGE or the WaterManagementNetwork) and conducted many projects in the thematic areas of natural science and environmental technology, but also on entrepreneurship and internationalisation.

As a first activity BPI prepared the application of a project idea within the WTZ funding scheme Germany-Ukraine (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) together with several partners from Germany and the Ukraine.
